Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Durban | African Arts and Botanic Bounty
Our Durban discovery tour begins with a drive through this bustling coastal city, known for its diverse mix of African, Indian, and colonial influences and thriving arts scene. The Phansi Museum exhibits one of the world's largest collections of Southern African artifacts, displayed in a restored British colonial villa that was declared a National Monument. The entire house and garden have been transformed into a gallery for ceremonial wear, sculptures, intricate beadworks, and other pieces collected around the KwaZulu-Natal province and Eastern Cape, as well as the Bantu-speaking Ndebele nation.
After our museum visit and stop for lunch, we continue to the Durban Botanic Gardens, the oldest surviving botanical garden in Africa. Spend about an hour wandering the paved walkways through more than 35 acres of subtropical flora; highlights include the Orchid House with its 8,000 plants; romantic, English-style sunken garden; and butterfly habitat. Travel back to port along the picturesque Golden Mile beachfront.
Approximate Length: 7 hours, 30 minutes
Suggested Attire/Walking Notes: Casual attire with comfortable walking shoes and sun protection. The museum is spread across various levels that people with mobility issues might find challenging to navigate.
PLEASE NOTE: All Virtuoso events ashore are capacity controlled and require a minimum number of participants to operate. Events are subject to change without notice. These events are individually tailored for each date and arrival. Your event could be different than whats noted here; but it will be designed to be memorable and to bring you a travelers view that you will treasure, and would otherwise miss entirely.
