Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Exclusive Shore Event: Marseille | Sweet Santons and Fragrant Savon
Our port of Marseille may be the second-biggest city in France, but it's also the gateway to some of Provence's littlest handicrafts. We'll head first Aix-en-Provence, less than an hour away, to discover the folksy world of santons. Beloved collectibles to many, these "little saints" are hand-painted nativity figurines that were first created during the French Revolution, when churches were closed and large nativity scenes were prohibited. Along with the Holy Family, santons also represent various characters from Provenal village life such as the fishwife, the blind man, and the chestnut seller. We'll visit a workshop to meet the santonniers, and learn about the process of making these delicate objet d'art.
We'll continue with a short walking tour in Aix, and stop for lunch at a local restaurant before transferring back to Marseille. Here we will delve into another treasured Provencal craft, Savon de Marseille, a traditional hard soap that dates back to the 14th century and is still as popular as ever. At the new Savon museum, we'll learn the history and production of this distinctive agricultural product, and make our own bars of soap to take back to the ship with us.
Approximate Length: 7 hours
