Like her sister ship, the Azamara Journey is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. In addition to going to the most celebrated destinations on Earth, youll also go to less-traveled ports, enjoy scenic rivers and waterways that are off-limits to big cruise lines, and sail to the doorstep of great cities like Seville, Hong Kong, and Bordeaux.
You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of her bars, restaurants, and lounges. Youll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the attentive staff and crew get to know you. And youll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views.
Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!

Our day begins with a panoramic tour through the city including the Serrano Towers, the railway station, the bullring and town hall square which brings us to the old town; one of the largest and best preserved historical quarters of Europe.
Visit La Lonja, a Unesco World Heritage site built between 1482 and 1533. This group of buildings was originally used for trading in silk (hence its name, the Silk Exchange) and it has always been a center for commerce. It is a masterpiece of late Gothic architecture.
Continue on foot through the old "El Carmen" quarter where we can admire the typical narrow and winding streets and some monuments such as the Generalitat Palace, before we pass the Cathedral of Saint Mary and visit the Basilica de la Virgen de los Desamparados, the patron Saint of the City.
Stop at the traditional "horchateria" Santa Catalina to taste the delicious local specialty, horchata. Horchata is a sweet drink made from tiger nut milk mixed with lemon juice, cinnamon and sugar and often accompanied by sweet breadsticks called fartons. Typical Spanish hot chocolate with ensaimada pastry is also available at this historic locale.
At the conclusion of our walking tour, we will reboard our coach for a brief panoramic tour of the Arts & Science complex where we will view the Palau de les Arts, L'Hemispheric planetarium and the Science Museum "Principe Felipe" designed by famous local architect, Santiago Calatrava. Stop here briefly for photos of this futuristic looking complex.
Continue to lunch on the beach at Casa Isabel Restaurant where we will enjoy delicious paella Valenciana, typical of the region, complimented by local wines. Following lunch we will return to the ship.
